Programme Update HCT has been awarded funding from a number of Skillnets for our HACCP, Occupational 1st Aid, Supervisory Management and Train the Trainer programmes call our office for more details. 056 7712755 FETAC News...... In 2011 HCT Certified 1500 participants for Minor Awards and 140 Major awards in Participants in Food Safety FETAC Level 5 and Horticulture FETAC Level 5. HCT are currently validating a number of programmes that we hope to offer in the summer keep tuned for updates. HCT News HCT have now completed 2 new programme validations, HCT hope to offer Plant propagation FETAC level 3 and Horticulture Tools and Equipment FETAC level 4 at the start of spring. HCT are meeting with our Horticulture Tutors next week to work on other horticulture related programmes including growing vegetables and sports surface maintenance. HCT will keep you posted on “NEW PROGRAMMES,” being included to our programme portfolio. HCT has just completed their largest ever FETAC submission. HCT can now confirm that 1274 certificates for various different sectors including Horticulture, Food, Health and Safety, Occupational 1st Aid and Manual based work will be coordinated and sent from our offices at the end of October. We would like to congratulate all participants and staff at HCT for their hard work. Avril will be dispatching final result over the next few days. HCT’s Next Certification period will be December. On Wednesday 24th August HCT had there 1st FETAC Site Visit. This site visit is to monitor on how well we are complying with our QA. HCT have been given verbal confirmation that we have received a 1 which means “providers are effectively implementing their quality systems, "which only 18% of FETAC Centres in Ireland receive. The report will be available in full for you to read on the FETAC website in the coming weeks. HCT would like to thank all involved fir these effort and work. Keep up the good work. FETAC are currently putting in place a new comprehensive suite of awards that will be available to all FETAC Centres throughout Ireland. By 2014 all FETAC awards will be part of this new system and will need to be Validated by FETAC in order for a centre to accredit the programme, this will create better standards to programmes offered by centres and will enable participants to better plan, access, transfer and progress of programmes they attend. The first change you will see is in December 2011 all level 3 programmes will be deactivated and FETAC centres will only be able to offer the new suite of common awards at Level 3. This programme is designed to enable participants to develop existing and new skills. This programme will bring participants through the learning process and how people learn, outline the factors needed to motivate learners and create a positive and inclusive learning environment while demonstrating the essential communication skills necessary for the successful delivery of training. Demonstrating effective facilitation skills, structuring training according to training programme requirements and the needs of individuals and applying practical training methods to the delivery of training are also covered.
