HCT’s Occupational First Aid Course will provide learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the HSA Standards and will equip learners with the appropriate tools to respond to any workplace emergency.
This course also meets all of the requirements of the National Ambulance Training School (NATS) curriculum and the First Aid Regulations 1993.On completion the qualification received will be valid for 3 years; after that learners will need to complete a 1 day refresher programme.
Hughes delivers our training program through having fun, experiential learning, practical exercises and group participation. Along side our highly experience trainers, we aim to develop course material with appropriate educational notes and case study examples ensuring all learning outcomes are met. Resulting in participants having a beneficial learning experience during and after our course.

Understand the responsibilities of the occupational first aider.
Be able to provide treatment for the purpose of preserving life or minimising the consequences of injury until discharge or the arrival of medical assistance.
Be able to provide treatment in the workplace for an injury which does not require the attention of a medical practitioner or nurse.
Be capable of coordinating first aid arrangements in the workplace.
Be familiar with health and safety legislation on first aid provision in the workplace.
FETAC Level 6 Instructor course or any other FETAC Level 5 Major award
FETAC Assessment: Participants who wish to achieve a FETAC Component Certificate must complete two skills demonstrations (70%), an exam (30%).
Level 4 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences
