HCT Ltd’s Manual Handling Training programme is delivered on your premises and is intended for persons who may be required to lift / move loads in the course of their work. The programme is designed to comply with the provisions of the 2007 General Application Regulations and the 2005 Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act.

A highly experienced and qualified Manual Handling instructor will demonstrate and equip learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out all Manual Handling tasks in a safe and secure manner with an emphasis on injury prevention and encouraging safety within the work place.

Aims

Participants will successfully achieve the following outcomes:

  • Capable of a number of Handling Techniques from a variety of positions (demonstrations and practice)
  • Understand the main injuries that may occur with incorrect lifting
  • Be familiar with the legislation regarding Manual handling
  • Have knowledge of Anatomy and bio-mechanics of the spine and muscles
